What is Carencia?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Periodos de Carencia is a period of time after concluding an insurance contract during which the client cannot yet use certain types of medical services.
Or, to put it simply, it is the \u201cwaiting time\u201d that is necessary to take advantage of more complex examinations, surgery, hospitalization, or childbirth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means that almost all services, such as doctor's consultations, tests, dentistry and many others, are available immediately after the policy starts. However, more complex procedures require a Carencia period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the "waiting time" at DKV Integral?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Surgical intervention and hospitalization (including prosthetics) \u2014 6 months.
\u2013 Childbirth, cesarean section (except premature birth) \u2014 8 months.
\u2013 Transplantation \u2014 12 months.
\u2013 Podiatric surgery and biomechanical gait study (individual rate) \u2014 6 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IMPORTANTLY:<\/strong> In the event of hospitalization related to a life-threatening situation or accident, the insurance company usually cancels the waiting period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already have a health policy from another insurance company, but you want to switch to DKV, don't worry - your insurance experience will be preserved and all waiting periods (cancellation periods) will be canceled, except for services related to childbirth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is important to note that there should be no gaps between policies. If your policy has expired and you decide to change insurance company a month later, you will have to go through the waiting period again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
